Many people seek therapy when they feel stuck or feel like there is a loss of direction in their lives. You may feel emotionally overwhelmed by life stressors and may have tried ways to cope with your emotional experience but still feel stuck, disconnected, or lost. You might be at a point where you are looking for a therapist that you can connect with in order to help support you during these times. My goal is to provide you with a sense of hope, purpose, and fulfillment using my therapeutic style and approach.
My therapeutic style has been described as warm, calming, compassionate, attentive, and engaging. I enjoy using a collaborative approach to accomplishing your personal goals and offer solution focused feedback to my clients. I also strongly encourage my clients to share their ideas and feedback in their treatment.
My work is heavily influenced by attachment and cognitive behavioral theories. The way that we feel and think about ourselves are influenced by the relationships we grew up around and the current relationships we surround ourselves with. We sometimes behave in the ways that we learn and we also have a need for connection with others.
My practice is a safe therapeutic environment where can share your thoughts and feelings without judgment and learn skills to help thrive in your daily life.
I utilize other treatment approaches as appropriate to the client. These approaches can include affirmative, somatic, acceptance and commitment, strengths based, relational-cultural, and interpersonal therapy.
